Ikea woes

Customer service sucked
Stock sucked
Delivery SUCKS.
Ikea might be on my totally sucky list from now on..

I went there yesterday with my 3 year old and my Man, and this was the FIRST time ever (yes I know, sad, but what can I do?) I went into a store, looking for a large purchase to buy with cash in hand. I walked in wanting to purchase a double bed, with a mattress.. we walked through the sunday shoppers, and made our way to the beds.. We had already picked out the model, of bed, just needed to find the right mattress, and then the waiting started... First, second and third choice were sold out, and what do you know so is the size of bed we want. Funny, thursday they said they were getting double shipment.

I looked at the customer service girl, and kinda went off! I told her I was in thursday, sold out, and now sold out. I said a few more random words then followed suit of my 3 year old and we parked our butts on (a very uncomfortable) mattress and a couple behind us said "If you are looking for customer service come during the week, they don't care here"

I sent my Man in to do the talking after we both decided on a QUEEN sized bed! YAHOO! and voila 30 min later, we had a piece of paper saying we wanted a bed and mattress and they wanted $580.00 (before tax ofcourse) from us. We couldn't stuff it in the car, so we opted for shipping. WHOA. We waited in line for another 30 minutes to get the shipping organized and pay..
WHAT...
$704.12 LATER!!!!!!!!!! I mean $69.00 for delivery? I almost died.

My last words said in Ikea were
"Excuse me, I need to get out of here" while I was trying to get through a line..

Everyone else shopping there was pleasent and happy and not frazzeled.. I walked out of there hot, red faced and my hair a mess!

I too want to be a happy Ikea shopper... But after that.. I don't think I want to go in.. Lucky my Man said he'd go in after work to pick up our dressers...

Walmart.. No Coupons Used :)

So on Fri. I have a very important date with a judge and my fantastic lawyer (and my ex and his lawyer) and I was scouring walmart to see if there was anything I could scoop up.. I only found shoes but DF got them for me, so I started looking at the kids section and found some AWESOME deals for LilMan and Princess!!

I got:












White and black runners $5.00
Tan/Pink runners $5.00
Black Winter boots $5.00 (I'm going to go again, to look for a larger size for next winter I Love them!!)
Black cords $2.00
2 long sleeved boys shirts $1.00 each
1 short sleeved rock n roll all over print boys shirt $1.
Polka dotted pink shirt $3.00
White long sleeve shirt $2.00

TOTAL: $24.00


23$ bones for 3 pairs of shoes, 5 tops and 1 pair of pants!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMGoodness!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were all in the clearance sections, I was surprised, as we went to a fairly new walmart that NEVER has any clearnace deals.

First off, I have to pay my respect and condolences to my step-family. My two step-brothers who shall be referred to by M and S, tragically lost their Mother Jackie Hiemstra on February 21, 2009. She is watching her family now in a safe place. I cannot imagine the pain that M and S are feeling right now, I just want them to be okay.

Walmart has a good sale on this weekend, some of the flyer contents are listed here and another great thread listed here and it lists which coupons to use at what store on what item!

So far this weekend, I'll be heading to walmart. Grabbin' up 4 pks. of 24-roll Royal TP (96 rolls !! ) for $12! And then some Scott Paper towels they are 2/$5 and I have $1. off cpns for them, so most likely I'll grab 3 pks. and spend $9! We go through a lot of paper towels its crazy! And this sale is just in time, and I'm running low!

Thank goodness I cleaned out my water closet, I have room to store the craziness! 5 black garbege bags later, and 3 large toys donated to my local St. Vincent du Paul.

Now go. run. Hug your mamas, hug your children. Life is short and we should live for today.


Happy kids and smiling lunches..

Lunch gets boring. . . Big time! I'm bored of making the same requests.. so sometimes to change it up, I get creative..




The kids love it, and I'm not repeating things a bazillion times like "sit and eat!" Grated cheese is a "treat" I guess in little kid land, eating itty bitty foods are fun! I also make food on a stick.. lol Cheese cubes, meat cut in cubes, grapes, melon etc.. they enjoy that too! Sandwiches make for awesome ears, and eyes, hot dogs work for smiles!
